Our client located in Concord, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Hard Chrome Plating Operator

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for testing, mixing and maintaining all solutions and correct processing temperatures
  • Maintaining working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
  • Perform electroplating operations to surface parts and materials with hexavalent chromium
  • Develop setups for electroplating operations in which processing time, voltage amperage and block-offs
  • Maintain chemical strength and proper level of solution in tanks as specified
  • Select processing time, voltage and amperage by calculating surface area to be plated
  • Select electrodes and determine spacing of parts in tanks
  • Check parts for cleanliness and proper surface
  • Test plating to determine adherence, thickness, quality, surface coverage, and specified buildup
  • Mask, tape and rack parts
  • Ensure that procedures relating to job safety and process control are followed
  • Meet productivity expectations
  • Adhere to Quality standards

Qualifications

  • Experience in plating standards AMS-QQC-320 / ASTM-B254 / AMS-2460 / ASTM B-177, AMS 2406 to name a few.
  • A minimum of ten years in a manufacturing environment
  • A background in Nuclear industry is preferred.
  • A thorough understanding of manufacturing and manufacturing process
  • Technical abilities, including ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications
  • Perform duties with a high degree of quality
  • Prior machining ability preferred
  • Mechanical ability a plus
  • Strong math skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to organize and prioritize
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Must possess and demonstrate a Customer Focus mind-set
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proficient in using various inspection equipment
  • Familiar with Nuclear plating and processing standards
  • Ability to calibrate inspection equipment
  • Must have knowledge on the use of testing and measuring instruments incidental to operations
  • Knowledge of plating chemistry and procedures required
