Our client has an immediate opportunity for a Process Planner – Assembly to join their team.

Wage: $90k with a 10% bonus

Shift: 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:

  •  Reports to the Manager of Process Planning
  • Design and development of cost-optimised manufacturing concepts for production of structural components in the automotive industry
  • Assessment / Estimation of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and labour related to joining technologies and the downstream processes
  • Planning, process assurance, and implementation of new and future-oriented joining technologies in cooperation with Technology Development
  • Assessment / Verification of proposals regarding the feasibility of an assembly, and if necessary present alternatives
  • Support product development in Design for Manufacturing/Assembly studies (DFM/A)
  • Provide knowledge and expertise of joining technologies for the project teams in their dealings with the customer (technical reviews and process visualisation)
  • Provide knowledge and expertise of joining technologies for CME/ME in their dealings with the integrators and suppliers
  • Collaborate in the Launch Workflow regarding the assembly processes (VSD, VSM)
  • Collaborate with external vendors for joining technology special projects
  • Store and maintain relevant documents in CIM DATABASE according to the workflow
  • Any reasonable request made by Process Planning Management
  • Willingness to travel on business

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in welding technology or joining technologies and facility planning including procurement.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on joining technology or technical education with further training and professional experience in joining technology
  • Additional qualification as a welding engineer or welding specialist is an advantage
  • Extensive industry knowledge of joining technologies
  • Experience in international project management, preferably in the automotive supply industry
  • Understanding of the costs involved for manufacturing equipment and tooling
  • Sound understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Confident user of MS Office
  • Confident user of CAD Software
  • Good CDB (CIM Database) skills
