Overview

We are currently looking for a full-time Financial Analyst for our client in Prince Edward Island.

Salary: $70K

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial and accounting data to identify trends, audit for discrepancies, and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
• Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of revenue and costs with GL accounts in accounting software.
• Develop and maintain financial models and workflows, including ETL processes and automation techniques, to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reports, including key metrics, financial results, and variance analysis.
• Assist with monthly close processes, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Provide analytical, forecasting, and project support to senior management and project teams to drive key business objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements in financial workflows, ensuring accounting software functions efficiently and accurately.
• Collaborate with team members by assisting with journal entries, vendor bill and invoice postings, and other finance tasks as needed, depending on workload and team capacity.
• Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant regulations.

Qualification:

• A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or computer science; CFA, CPA or CMA designation is an asset.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis, or related fields.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including formulas, data cleansing, data manipulation, and financial modelling; experience with Power Query M is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of MS Fabric and Power BI is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with accounting software and ERP systems are assets, particularly knowledge of Odoo or Open ERP.
• Experience with database systems; familiarity with SQL or DAX is an asset.
• Experience using Python for data manipulation, automation, and ETL processes is an asset.
• Experience with financial planning software is an asset.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
