Overview
Our client, located 30 minutes North of the GTA in Ontario has immediate opportunities for a Material Handler to join their team.
Pay Rate: $22-25/hr + paid Overtime and Shift Premiums
RESPONSIBILITIES/EFFORTS
- Responsible for all department material movement and support
- Participate in regular cleanup activities
- Participate in quick die change process with other team members (Stamping)
- Load and unload bins from presses & assembly area
- Load and unload die and transfer conveyers/chutes etc. (Stamping)
- Safe and efficient coil handling (Stamping)
- Work collaboratively with all Material Handlers to maintain Raw Materials,
- Purchased components, WIP and Finished goods storage areas.
- Responsible for material moving equipment, including minor maintenance;
- Perform daily crane and tow-motor pre-operational inspections
- Assist with rework/sorting on non-conforming parts as required
- Responsible for bin label and tag verification
- Immediately report any incidents to Supervisor
- Performs all duties as assigned in accordance with and adherence to the TS 16949 Quality System Standard
- Follows Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions as outlined in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee Handbook
- Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety, 5S and Housekeeping guidelines and rules;
- Reports all unsafe & unhealthy conditions to Management or a member of the
- Joint Health & Safety Committee
- Performs other tasks as required
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ PREREQUISITES
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-2 years material handling experience
- Current Forklift License
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE
- Crane operating certificate required
- Strong organizational & time management skills
