Plant Manager

Tooling Experience a must.

Duties And Responsibilities

Manage day to day labour with a business mindset watching costs and timelines
Continue to support and help other divisions when in need or when I see its needed
Work with all leaders and managers to strive to beat our timelines by having a plan always
Continuously keeping an eye on shop labour vs forecast
Continue to monitor WIP and percentage complete on all jobs
Maintaining a good relationship with customers (current and future ones) through all of the ups and downs of this industry and its unexpected delays
Oversee A/R (invoicing approvals), and A/P (review and control spending)
Quality system administration and monitoring
Corporate WIP and personnel reporting
Payroll timesheet approval
Employee issues and engagement
Improvement initiatives / Special projects
Daily interacting with the shop floor to try to keep a close eye on morale
Promote and delegate so people are encouraged to grow
Communicate with Finance often to manage spending
Stay in touch regarding Safety and Maintenance issues
Involved in all CMM layout approvals before customer receives them
Meet with Finance regularly to go over invoicing on all jobs
Maintain and control all shop activity
Make sure the site is always in “tour“ condition
Challenge and be sure apprentices receive proper training
Challenge all dept leaders to continue to negotiate outsource pricing
Travel and support tooling when no one are available (internal and external)
Always looking to expand our customer base, thinking outside the box and using new machining methods to allow us to retain work that has been going overseas etc.…more machines, less labour
Corporate policy and initiative review/liaison/facilitation

Requirements

10 + years experience in tooling / machining or related industry

Proven Experience Working In Plant Operations Required

Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating plants
Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology
Familiar with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership and managerial attributes. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

Able to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a time
