Our client located in Mississauga, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Purchasing & Materials Manager

Pay Rate: Negotiable based on experience

Duties:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies.
  • Plan and organize production schedules & material planning.
  • Manage the procurement of materials and services required for the organization’s operations.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage inventory levels by analyzing data to identify trends to ensure the availability of raw materials and finished goods and optimize inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking and reporting on procurement and production activities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Develop and manage a team of purchasing and material planners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in purchasing and materials management
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience negotiating contracts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of CMS/Epicor or equivalent ERP system
  • Computer skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Microsoft Power point
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing inventory levels and implementing procurement policies
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards
