Our client located near Newmarket, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer, who has Stamping and/or Weld Assembly experience.
Pay Range: $90-100k
Shift: Steady shifts Nights and either Day or Afternoon
JOB DESCRIPTION
Develop and maintain documentation for:
o PFMEA o New program monitoring
o PFC requirements, as defined by the
o DFMA Engineering Management
o Operator Instructions and o Equipment capacity training o Floor plan layout
o Rework Instructions
o Packaging studies o Change-over procedure and o Time studies
instructions o Ergonomic studies
o Manufacturing Engineering Open o Operator issues and Lessons Issues Learned
• Source and develop outside vendors and resources that are capable in performing work to specifications
• Take a leadership role in the development and implementation of 8D’s corrective actions (C.A.R.’s)
• Coordinate the execution of internal PPAP projects
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with pertinent health and safety legislation, practices and procedures
• Plan, coordinate and develop prototype builds and budgets to meet program APQP timelines
• Plan and lead the launch of new programs, new equipment and retro fits
• Work directly with machine integrators and manage timelines and progress reports
• Responsible for equipment being provided by O.E.M, to adhere to equipment specifications
• Plan and lead for new gauge and check fixtures for new and existing programs
• Performs all duties as assigned in accordance with and adherence to the TS 16949 Quality System Standard
• Follows Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions as outlined in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee Handbook
• Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety, 5S and Housekeeping guidelines and rules;
• Reports all unsafe & unhealthy conditions to Management or a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee
• Performs other tasks as required
Responsibilities
• Responsibilities are for all Areas of the Press, Assembly, Receiving, Work In Process, etc.
• Plan, co-ordinate, lead, and participate in various multi-disciplined teams in addressing and fulfilling various corporate objectives, associated with the manufacturing process, productivity, volume outputs, scrap/rework, quality, safety, and delivery commitments
• Maintain current with the overall field of Manufacturing Engineering, new technology, and processes, attending training courses as needed
• In liaison with the Program Manager, Sales Coordinator, Product Engineer, Purchasing complete all RFQ’s on a timely basis while meeting the customer’s requirements
• Define specification and the statement of work, develop, maintain and execute the implementation plan for new equipment
• Obtain various new and/or modification of current equipment quotations for approval,
• Champion continuous improvement program’s area of responsibility
Requirements
• Degree/ Diploma in either Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• Computer skills in SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
• Minimum 5 years industrial experience, preferably in: o automated assembly process, o MIG welding process, o knowledge in Laser welding is an asset o Tool and Die making and/or metal fabrication
